PROJECT DETAILS

Included here is the daily itinerary and budget for the trip. In order to plan a trip that would allow us to see both the touristy locations of Denver as well as educational and cultural places I researched as much of what Denver had to offer as possible. I wanted us to have a memorable trip as well as see Denver as locals do. In this same spirit, as I selected locations to eat, I took a somewhat unique approach. I found online news stories from local Denver newspapers with lists of the best restaurants in the city. By doing so, we ate at places that were popular among locals instead of those popular among tourists. Once our activities and meals were selected, I would plan each day by selected the activities and restaurants that were near each other to allow us to walk through the city as much as possible.

Day 1 – Monday 13th

Travel: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm

Union Square: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Travel: 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Check-in at Airbnb: 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Dinner at G’s Local Taco Bar: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Relax at Airbnb: 8:00 – 10:00 pm

Day 2 – Tuesday 14th

Travel: 8:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Denver Zoo: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Lunch at Atomic Pizza: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Denver Museum of Nature and Science: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

City Park: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Dinner at Kitchen Table Barbeque: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

City Park: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Travel: 8:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Relax at Airbnb: 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Day 3 – Wednesday 15th

Travel: 9:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Downtown Denver Aquarium: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Lunch at My Brother’s Bar: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Denver Botanic Gardens: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Cheeseman Park: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Dinner at Peter’s Chinese Café: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Day 4 – Thursday 16th

Check-out and travel: 9:00 am – 9:30 am

Tour of Hammond Candy Factory: 9:30 am – 10:30 am

Denver Art Museum: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Lunch at Zeps Epiq Sandwich shop: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Travel: 4:00 pm – midnight

Time was scheduled but enough time was scheduled into each day to allow us to take extra time during our daily activities if we wanted. Typically, the time scheduled was very close to the time we actually spent, and everything went very smoothly throughout the trip.
